3. Compose Messages

To compose a message:

Clicking on the chat button () from the main screen will open the Chat Sessions window.

Here you will see any ongoing chat sessions.
Here you will see any ongoing chat sessions. Any chat sessions that have received new incoming messages will have an icon () indicating you have received a new-unread message. If any user or Group has been deleted you will see “[deleted user]”, or “[deleted group]” in stead of the user or group name.
To start a new session click on the New Chat button () to bring up the Chat Message Session window.

To add a contact you can do any of the following:
Click on the '+' button to open the contacts lists.
Here you can choose:
You can also just enter the screen name of a user (if you know it) into the indicated field.
Now just type your message into the New Message field. Notice the character count - this is helpful if you are sending a SMS to a cellular/satellite phone that can only receive limited length messages (typically this is about 160 characters). If you are messaging another OneMessage user there is no limit to the length of your message.
When you are ready click the 'Queue For Send' button to queue the message for sending. Your new session will show up in the list with an icon () indicating there are messages ready to be sent.

Click close to close this window and return to the main OneMessage window.

Note: If you are on a network connection your outgoing messages will be sent automatically at this time. If you are on any other connection type you will now need to click the GO button to perform a connection and send your messages. At this time the service will also download any new messages that are waiting. If any new messages have been downloaded you will see the chat button flashing yellow () indicating such.
