To enable data connections via the LT-3100 and Sidekick
Connect your Sidekick LAN port to your LT-3100 ethernet port.
Turn on LT-3100
On the unit select Menu -> System -> Network
Record the IP Address (e.g. 192.168.8.145) that is shown
Connect your computer to the Sidekick Wi-Fi network
Open a web browser and enter the IP Address of the LT-3100 (e.g. 192.168.8.145)
You will be asked to login.. Use 'admin' for both username and password
From the menu on the left choose
Configuration ->Data-> Modem data options
then place a check to Enable serial over network
Click Apply
Next you will need to choose
Configuration -> Network -> Ethernet interface
Change the Mode to 'DHCP server'
place a check to enable DHCP announced gateway
Click Apply
Now you can switch the ethernet cable on the Sidekick from LAN to the WAN port. You should reboot the Sidekick at this time.
Note: To log back into the LT-3100 web interface you will use the new IP address of 192.168.1.1
Your system is now ready to be used with the Sidekick. Make sure that in the OCENS software your connection settings are set to: Default Connection: Sidekick Dialer and Type: Sidekick LT-3100
The connection may fail on the first try. Just try again.
